Onager Dunecrawler (Icarus Array)
Sky-Hunter Quadruped of the Cog
The Onager Dunecrawler is a sacred quadruped war-walker forged for the Skitarii Cohorts of the [[forge-worlds]], its hull shaped after the lumbering arachnid relics catalogued by tech-priests during the Quest for Knowledge. A single MIU-linked Tech-Priest Enginseer is plugged directly into its chassis, the holy Man-Machine Interface allowing his consciousness to ride the dunecrawler's machine spirit as one continuous datastream of binary cant. Its four hydraulic legs traverse rubble, ash-wastes and broken battlefields where tracked vehicles would founder, blessed by oath-rites of the Cult Mechanicus before each deployment. Where lesser tanks merely advance, the Onager strides — patient, monastic, inexorable in its sacred duty. This pattern wears the Icarus Array — twin Icarus autocannons paired with a daedalus missile launcher and a sky-tracking augur shroud — turning the dunecrawler into a walking anti-aircraft chapel. The array's predictive cogitator solves three-dimensional intercept geometry hundreds of times per second, the gunner-priest's MIU experiencing each engagement as a slow, contemplative geometry of vector cones rather than the chaos of tracer-fire. Where Imperial Hydra batteries scream and flail at the heavens, the Icarus Onager simply walks beneath the sky, considers it, and removes whatever offends the Omnissiah from its dome.

Tactical Role
Icarus Onagers provide layered anti-air cover for Mechanicus battlegroups and allied [[astra-militarum]] columns, intercepting strike-craft, gunships and dive-bombers before they can engage softer targets. Their daedalus missiles also engage skimmer-class hover vehicles with high lethality.
