Cerastus Knight-Lancer
Charging Cavalry of the Heresy Era
The Cerastus Knight-Lancer is an ancient relic chassis dating to the [[great-crusade]] and the dark days of the [[horus-heresy]], standing taller and faster than its Questoris descendants. Its primary armament is the shock lance — a colossal power weapon designed to skewer enemy super-heavies and titans during high-velocity charges. In its off-hand it bears an ion gauntlet shield, projecting a focused defensive field that can deflect even lance-class energy weapons. The Lancer's signature manoeuvre is the cavalry charge: closing at devastating speed, lance levelled, ion shield braced — a sight that has terrified traitor forces across ten thousand years of warfare. Few Cerastus Knight-Lancers remain operational in M41. Each surviving chassis is a treasured relic of its house, brought to battle only when foes of titanic stature must be answered. The Throne Mechanicum bond on a Cerastus is unusually deep — the chassis predates the standardised Questoris template, and its machine spirit carries memories of fighting alongside Primarchs during the Great Crusade. To pilot a Lancer is to inherit ten millennia of accumulated honour and ten millennia of accumulated grief, for the spirit remembers every brother and sister chassis lost to the Heresy.

Tactical Role
The Knight-Lancer is a dedicated cavalry charger, accelerating across open battlefields to deliver shock lance strikes against titans, super-heavies, and command nodes. Its speed and ion shield combine to make it almost untouchable during the closing phase of a charge.
