Huron Blackheart

Tyrant of Badab, Master of the Red Corsairs

Huron Blackheart, the scarred and augmented Tyrant of Badab

Huron Blackheart was born Lufgt Huron, Chapter Master of the Astral Claws and self-proclaimed Tyrant of Badab, ruler of a stronghold system deep within the Maelstrom Zone. His illegal hoarding of gene-seed tithes swelled his Chapter to Legion-scale strength, a defiance of Imperial law that ignited the Badab War, a rebellion that dragged half a dozen Chapters into secession across more than a decade of savage fighting and would end his old life to begin his new one.
When that rebellion collapsed at the fall of his Palace of Thorns, a dying blast from Star Phantoms Captain Zhrukal Androcles destroyed the entire right side of Huron's body. He should have died there. Instead his Apothecary Garreon and Forge Master Valthex rebuilt him with brutal, oversized bionics, and Huron fled into the Maelstrom with barely two hundred surviving warriors, refounding them under a new name and a new banner: the Red Corsairs. Even that near-death became a legend other renegades still repeat, proof that the newly forged Red Corsairs would bow to nothing, not even mortality itself.
Ten millennia — or mere decades, depending on how the tides of the Warp have treated him — later, the Red Corsairs stand as the largest renegade Space Marine warband in the galaxy, their ranks swollen by outcasts and traitors from dozens of shattered Chapters. Attended always by the daemonic familiar known as the Hamadrya, which channels Warp-born power directly into him, Huron preys on shipping and worlds across the Maelstrom and beyond, driven less by devotion to any single power of Chaos than by an unquenchable, half-machine bitterness at everything he has lost. His corsair fleets are said to number in the hundreds, crewed by renegades who answer to no authority but his own, and even other warlords of the Long War give the Maelstrom Zone a wide berth rather than risk his wrath.
